The Chapter will focus efforts on increasing donations from the Surgeon community to support campaigns of policymakers who understand the current and long-term challenges that surgeons face when practicing in New York.
Legal information regarding political action committees
Personal and Corporate Contributions: The NYS Election Law places aggregate calendar year limits on the amount of political contributions that can be made by individuals and corporations.
- An individual may contribute up to a total of $150,000.00 in a calendar year.
- A corporation may contribute up to a total of $5,000.00 in a calendar year.
- Sole Proprietorships, LLCs, PLLCs, LLPs and PLLPs and partnerships are treated as contributions from an individual for political contribution limits
- A corporation usually has “PC”, “Inc.” or “Ltd” in its name.
