ACS Medical Student Resources

Medical student membership in the ACS and NY State Chapter  signifies a personal commitment to furthering your professional development and a commitment to knowing more about this exciting and challenging profession. We work continuously to comprehensively address the surgical education needs in surgery for medical students during all four years of medical school, supports educational efforts that facilitate the transition from medical school to residency training, and encourages the involvement of medical students in the educational activities of the ACS. > Learn More

Why is this Needed?
  • Medical students are placed in an environment where expectations are stress are high.
  • Any interaction with attending physicians can feel like an interview
  • These stressors may prevent students from truly reflecting and learning about about various surgical specialties
  • Our hangouts will provide a comfortable place to learn and ask questions.
