Amplify your voice and join your colleagues at the Annual New York ACS Advocacy Day in Albany, New York on Monday, June 4th, 2018

The New York Chapter American College of Surgeons (ACS) advocacy activities at the state level represent the interests of you, the practicing surgeon, and your patients. We encourage all surgeons to get involved - your participation ensures issues affecting surgeons and patients are recognized.

Our goals for the day include:

• The facilitation of grassroots advocacy efforts by members of the Chapter
• Inform surgeons and elected representatives about legislative and regulatory issues affecting care of their patients such as medical liability reform, inappropriate scope expansions, etc..

Regardless of your politics, the consequences of state policy affect your daily practice and cannot be ignored.

Final details are under development for the issues we will present that day, however we intend to educate Senators and Assembly members on reasons to support legislation that is crucial to your practice such as: Medical Liability Reform In addition, we will protect patients and the profession by opposing bills that will inappropriately expand scope of practice and minimize the importance of Board Certification.
