Social Media impacts almost every aspect of life including health care. Consumers can rely on health information being readily available via social media however, some health information can be misinformation or even disinformation.

The impact of this misinformation has elevated during the pandemic and both misinformation and disinformation can find its way to the physician-patient encounter. 

During this webinar, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize the impact of social media on health misinformation in patient populations
  • Discuss resources to become knowledgeable on addressing misinformation with patients
  • Recognize professional and ethical responsibility in use of social media
  • Evaluate best practice to address patients authoring negative physician care remarks via social media
  • Identify at least three best-practice strategies to mitigate social media risk and apply to my practice
