  2. Understand the ways you are limiting your influence and learn strategies to overcome those obstacles. 

  3. Develop skills to communicate more assertively and empathetically with difficult colleagues to maximize the influence you have in an interaction. 

  4.  Gain insights into the common mistakes that people make in interactions where they don't feel heard. 

  5.   Understand what may motivate the difficult colleague in interactions and consider different perspectives that will give you more options for responding in a more effective way.
